The National Association of Subsoil Expertise (hereinafter referred to as “NAEN”) was established in 2004 by the largest organizations in the field of subsoil use, such as: FBU "GKZ"; "Surgutneftegas" PJSC; “Lebedinsky GOK” JSC; “ALROSA” PJSC; “UMMC”(UGMK)-Holding Corporation; “EVRAZ” PLC ; «AS Amur” PJSC; “Severstal” PJSC ; "Lukoil" PJSC; "Gazprom-neft" PJSC; “ТОМS engineering” LLC; “Polymetl” JSC et al.
The goal of “NAEN” is to form a community of professional participants in expert activities, summarize best practices and disseminate knowledge and innovations in the field of geological exploration of mineral resources, development of deposits and mineral processing for the rational and integrated use of mineral raw materials. “NAEN” operates with the support of the Eurasian Union of experts of Subsoil use (EUES)
The Association positions itself as a methodological partner of the state and subsoil users in the field of subsoil expertise, which is taking part in the development of balanced decisions in the field of geological study and subsoil use expertise; center of key competencies in the field of subsoil expertise; center for the accumulation and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of subsoil use and examination of subsoil.
In 2004 “NAEN” acted as the coordinator for the creation of the Central Commission for the Development of Fields of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use. The Association was the coordinator and center for the examination of technical projects for field development in the Russian Federation for a long time, as well as a partner of the State Commission for Mineral Reserves during the state examination of reserves. (It was performed more than 2500 examinations of subsoil use objects of solid mineral deposits).
The association has developed the Russian Code of Public Reporting, it name is "NAEN Code". This code is part of the CRIRSCO family.
Eurasian Union of experts of Subsoil use (EUES) was created with the support of the Association. This is the largest professional union experts of subsoil use in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU)
The "NAEN" is also the founder of the scientific and technical journal "Subsoil Use. XXI Century", accredited by the Higher Attestation Commission.
